The coyote will probably never see the gator that gets him until the
coyote's snout is in the gators mouth. The gator can rest under water
right where the coyote comes to drink. When the coyote comes to drink,
quick as a flash, he'll find his snout or whole head in the gator's
mouth. The gator will drag him into the water and drown him with a
death-roll or two thrown in for good measure. But coyotes will probably
catch a few baby gators as well... provided the momma gator (never far
from the kids) doesn't get him first. Don't mess with momma gators...
they're mean.
