No, I never kept them in the charger after they were charged.  Therefore 
(according to the lore) their life should have been longer rather than 
shorter.  But it doesn't change the fact that I view batteries (that 
last 5-7 years) as cheap enough that I don't have to worry about 
optimizing their life.
