Chris,
you have to judge it against the aircraft of it's time. I feel the
crazy cancellation of the TSR2 programme was the start of the demise of our
aircraft industry. (still have my scale corgi model of the aircraft, what a
beauty!}

They do, Jez. In the past I have mourned the cancellation of that aircraft,
but it now looks dated and rather like a miniature Vulcan (which dinosaur I am
really glad I did not have to fly).
