Chris, you are right that I don't fiddle much, but I do fiddle a bit. And in 
particular, I often convert to B&W. When I bought my first digital SLR, back in 
2004, I shot JPEGs. But then one day I took a picture on a street in Copenhagen 
which worked much better in B&W than in colour. Except that no matter what I 
did, converting the JPEG file resulted in ugly artifacts. I decided right then 
and there to stick with RAW from then on, and I have. I want the flexibility. 
And in those case where all my post-processing consists of cropping and hitting 
the AUTO button in Lightroom, surely my computer can do it at least as well as 
the one built into the camera.
