At Chuck's suggestion I bought a metal faux-Leica grip for my OM2SP.  That was 
around 7 years ago and it is a delightful grip, albeit a little bigger than the 
OM screw-in type, very light and discreet.  It is fastened by screwing into the 
tripod bush, and braced against the right of the camera's body with a small 
rubber bumper to provide protection.
