Hi, every Olympus mailing list members,
I'm Michael, from Hong Kong. Do you still remember me? There is no visit
mailing list for about 2 years. Refreshing my memory, my last post was
telling about the bad news of my nephew's daughter dead.
In this 2 years, some of changes for my life, especially in photography.
I have switched to large format and gave up 135 film format due to I am
learning enlarge printing in dark room since 2 years ago. Yes, larger format
is more benefit for enlarge printing. I hold 3 systems for my photographic
equipments. Ebony 45s is major stuff with 3 modern lenses for landscape
shots, they are all Schneider lenses as Super Angulon 72XL, Super Symmar
110XL and APO-Symmar 180. Recently, I take more times to focus on portrait
shots. I have purchased 2 over-hundred years Petzval brass lenses with a
modified #5 shutter. The image is much attractive for the portrait shots of
Petzval lenses due to the image is too sharp, too hard, contrasty for modern
lenses.
Second one is Hasselblad 500C/M with CF80 and CF50 FLE but seldom to use and
as a side arm where is not suitable 4x5 shots.
The third one is Nikon D5000 kit set with 55-200VR and 35/1.8G. It is for
event shots and family gathering shots.
For my private life, I am busy for my study of the evening course for to be
as a chartered member of CILT ( http://www.cilt.org.hk/ ). As my schedule, I
will study a master degree course in University of Hong Kong in 2012 school
year if I can be as chartered member before June 2012, otherwise I have to
go on the study on 2013 school year. So, you can imagine how I am busy for
studying, working & photography.
There is a lot benefit to be gained from study. Except knowledge, open my
eyes, teaching me thinking deeply and know more English vocabularies.
Frankly, I read & wrote English hardly before since I was seldom to reply
your posts here and I feel more better now even my English is still so bad.
Do you remember I said my daughter wishes to go on university course in
England? She is studying form 5 secondary course in Hong Kong and prepare to
study from six course in England. Frankly, the education system of Hong Kong
is suck and too many changes and changes in recent a few years. She is
preparing to apply about 4 high schools of England for her form six course.
Major focus on The Royal high school in Bath Spa, England. And she also
focus on University of Bath for her university courses. Of course, she is
proceeding her first step, dunno the result yet. Or maybe take the form six
course in York, dunno that.
I visited London & Bath Spa with my wife and daughter in Aug for a travel
and look around Bath Spa. There is a very beautiful place. I enjoyed the
relax life there and you know how busy in Hong Kong. I hope I can move to
Bath Spa for my retired life, of course I know it is a dream.
As a Photographic mailing list, I have to share some photos here. Below
