I have a Gitzo ? 320 Reporter tripod with a 3-way Manfrotto head.

I was utterly amazed one day when using it at nearly full extension in an 
approximately 20 mph wind - maybe less - to find that the tripod was 
vibrating rapidly and - to my mind - quite significantly.  I think that Linhof 
tripods would be less vibration-prone, and their clamping system is quicker 
and more certain, but the only one I have is significantly smaller and lighter 
than my Gitzo.
