Sounds like Endwell is well named, at least if you are on the hill.
We are on high ground, but, in our block, a lot of the ground water comes my
way and runs through my driveway. Many years ago, I brought in fill dirt
and contoured the area around the house so that most of the run-off is
deflected away from the foundation. Haven't had any problems since then,
but, we only have a crawl space, no basement.
