Ramblers were sold in NZ until ?? 10 years ago. Never really popular; they 
were seen AFAIK as a medium-sized car that wasn't particularly competent.

I remember the song reasonably well, and the memory of the Cooper vs V8 
is in a separate memory pigeonhole :-)
I just don't remember the details
