Correction.  I do believe the histogram visible now is exactly the same 
as I saw before.  I was confused by the lack of gaps in the bright bits. 
  There are none visible in the overall luminosity histogram but they 
are very visible in the individual RGB channels.  That is what I recall 
seeing and what I described in my first mail.
