Having lived in Galway for four years in the early 70s, I agree with
Chris' assessment of the weather. To be a little unfair, we used to joke
that it was either raining, or going to rain. Seriously, you can have
excellent weather, if you're lucky. And, as Chris says, it's changeable.

Don't know what you want to photgraph. Irish cities and towns are like
others in Europe - "small" and have lots of churches and the like, so
wide angles are useful. The countryside, coastal views etc may call for
a longer reach.

I usually travel with my baby 21, 50/1.4 and 100/2. Yes, the 100 is a
bit bulky, but that's OK. Other options include (lightweight) leave the
100 at home and bring a x2 converter for 100/2.8 (I know, that's a
sacriligeous thought), or (a little heavier) bring both the 100 and the
x2, which would give you a 200/4 at a pinch.

I'd only take one OM and only one 50mm. Your wife has the backup camera
(maybe you need to take an OM to M4/3 adapter).

Nick

I suspect that you will not need anything longer than a 135 equivalent
lens. The weather is changeable, most of the time, with poor weather
(loads of rain) followed by glorious sunshine. The place is green
because it has so much rain, but it looks beautiful in the sun.

Where in Ireland will you be?

Chris
