Can the statement "......the pixel quality of [a] digital image is just
better...." be extended to the following statement ".....the pixel quality
of [a] digital image obtained by a sensor in a digital camera is just better
than the pixel quality of a digital image obtained by scanning a film camera
negative where the megapixel size of both digital files is the same."

The only givens are that both images capture the same scene, that the
lighting conditions are the same for both images, that the film ISO and the
digital camera ISO setting are the same, and that the film scanner is a high
end professional model capable of doing full credit to the negative.
