Maybe 35mm equivalents will make it easier to visualize.

A 110mm lens on 6x17 gives a 75 degree horizontal angle of view or
approximately the same as a 24mm lens on 35mm.

A 90mm lens on 6x17 give an 86 degree horizontal angle of view or
approximately the same as a 19mm lens.

Of course, the angular height of the 6x17 would not be like the 35mm
equivalents. It would be about like cropping the top half off a 35mm image.

ps: The handiest calculator I've found for doing these kinds of
calculations for all kinds of different formats is here:
<http://www.mhohner.de/formulas.php> Scroll to near the bottom of the
page to skip all the math and get to the calculator.
