I think there are too much model variations in the 50f1.4 series to state this.
My SC 400.XXX serial 50f1.4 is very, wery soft (think David Hamilton
:) wide open, and stays soft at f2,
It improves at 2.8 and over. To me it is a good enlarging glass :)
