I don't know what the E-things do when shooting raw but the 5D raw image 
always contains an embedded 4MP JPEG that conforms to the settings on 
the camera at the time the shot was made.  It's that image that you see 
when reviewing in-camera or when using browsers short of doing an actual 
conversion of the raw image.  The embedded 4MP image is always there and 
is not the same as shooting raw + JPEG which creates a separate JPEG 
image file.  I've not tried it in other browsers but BreezeBrowser 
provides an option for extracting the embedded file if you like.
