Hmmm, even with my filter setting at low I don't see the smudging you 
refer to (test shot was of a weaved blanket). ISO 1600 and 3200 seem to 
suffer from a decrease in color saturation and of course, increase in 
noise though with a proper exposure and the use of noise ninja with 
strength set to 5 and sharpening set to 30 (half the defaults) I get 
excellent results. I will be pushing my exposures toward the right on 
any ISO setting over 800.
