Yes, I remember your comment now and was sorry to hear it.  Perhaps that 
was the 2004-2006 period when Mamiya was retrenching and trying to get 
out from under the camera business.  In any case, Sekonic appears to be 
handling their own import business in the US these days.

My Sekonic meter is now about 3 years old and has worked flawlessly.  I 
think it's only on its second battery.  I bought it specifically for its 
flash/ambient ratio capability and its PocketWizard triggering (although 
I've never used that feature).  I have always respected Minolta meters 
and see here that models V F and VI have the same flash/ambient 
capability but I wouldn't know where to buy a new one if I were so inclined.
