Oh, has it started working again? ;-)

I've had my share of MS SQL Server- (and MySQL-) induced pain in such fora.

Until a few weeks ago I was a regular there, and of all these issues I
had heard only about the focusing which should be fixed now in the
12–60mm recall. That and some misalignment reports. I guess I just
assumed it would be dealt with as a matter of course under warranty
just as with the 12–60mm focusing.

I had heard situation was even worse in Cannikon land, but no specifics.

We are talking pro models here, and the E-3 has a great viewfinder.
Give it a focusing screen and we should be talking. I have heard of
no such problems in the amateur bodies, mine is just fine.

Anyway, just an idea. What's yours? No use complaining about
complexity without stating which tradeoffs would be acceptable to you.

I guess some engineering could be solved by using more standards — say
ditching the xD card port for sD or an all-CompactFlash design,
ditching ORF for DNG or the upcoming TIFF/EP version, ditching Olympus
Master and Studio for Olympus supported drivers for the major software
packages around (including free ones like the Gimp, CinePaint, gtkam)…
but none of these would really cut into complexity, only make it more
modular.
