Ghosn was born in Porto Velho, Brazil on March 9, 1954 to Lebanese
parents. At age 6, he moved to Beirut, Lebanon, with his mother. He
completed his secondary school studies there, in a Jesuit school
(Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour).[citation needed] He graduated with
engineering degrees from the École Polytechnique in1978 (1974) with
last year's specialisation at the École des Mines de Paris. He is a
French citizen.

Actually I would have said that Chrysler became German, at least until
MB dumped it. Ford owned Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo and a
controlling interest in Mazda. The Jaguar S-Type models are built on
the Lincoln LS platform, The X-Type is built on the Ford CD132
platform as is the Ford Mondeo and Jaguar was listed as a division of
FMC. The Mazda 3 and Volvo S40 and V50 are built on the Ford C1
platform along with the Ford Focus. I saw recently that Ford sold
Jaguar, Aston Martin, and Land Rover and is selling other parts to
raise cash. Not sure about Volvo cars. Volvo still owns the trucks.
