Wow!  That's a pretty tough list.  I don't know the answer but I'll be 
interested in what the others have to say.

As to battery alternatives perhaps a handful of pre-charged $5 ebay 
lithium clones sufficient to take 2000 shots (maybe 3-500 per battery) 
or whatever you expect to do.  Just don't get blown up or catch fire.
