That's the word I was looking for - ethereal - great word, and it sums
up that image perfectly.

This is another fine image (and this from someone who, until very
recently, couldn't see the appeal of dirty old trains). I like the
appearance of the smoke/steam/exhaust from this loco a lot. Woo-ooh!
They're like preternatural creatures. Spooky!
