Of course.

Uh oh. WARNING, WARNING, WARNING...

SingTel does have some specific "issues" with their DSL deployment.
Most modems and routers have a "SingTel" setting. Seriously!

But what I suspect is interference from another device. Singapore is
the most "Wireless" place on earth. Cordless phones, video devices
and even bluetooth will interfere with WiFi. Not to mention the fact
that your neighbors all over the building and next door have wireless
routers, phones, video devices and bluetooth. Oh, and then there is
the public WiFi network outdoors. They have nifty "anti-rogue"
capabilites that really will fry your goat. Your wireless router
will show up on their access points as an interferring rogue access
point (especially if you haven't changed the SSID from the factory
default, changed the channel assignment to auto, and enabled WEP).
Well, what they can do is block your wireless router from working
correctly. What it does is spoof your router, shutting down it's
ability to respond and then locks up the client pc access.

Lovely, eh?

Next time you're there, look up and down the street for these things
that look kinda like wasps nests with a couple of little antennaes
sticking out the bottom.

Big brother IS watching...
