Dress warm for the ferry ride, so you can use the camera out on the front
deck. The Islands are gorgeous. I've been to Friday Harbor and Anacortes
several times, haven't been to Victoria since '63 though I still remember
some of the gorgeous buildings.
Come to think of it, I hear the Scott Peden Building is still there :-)

I don't know how you feel about bipedal ambulation and public
transportation, but I'm willing to pick you up at the Fulford Harbor
ferry. Then you could take the Victoria Clipper passenger ferry right
from downtown Seattle to Vic, then there's a bus that goes to the
Swartz Bay ferry terminal, then a 35 minute ferry ride to Salt Spring.
Don't know if you've been through the islands, but it's a real nice
ferry ride.
If you prefer driving, the Anacortes --> Sydney ferry is the way to
go, then ten minutes drive to Swartz Bay.
