I would suggest you abandon your shotgun approach to lens purchase.  If 
you're going to buy a long lens with manual focus and diaphragm you 
should give consideration to what else this lens might be used on.  In 
other words, direct your purchase at something that can have a dual 
purpose with a life on another type of body.

A sub-set of these lenses (not the Minoltas) can also be used on Canon 
EOS/EF mount cameras either film or digital with appropriate adapter. 
If you buy OM mount lenses they can be used on OM bodies as well as 4/3 
and Canon EOS/EF mount bodies.  Also, if you buy a T/T2 mount lens it 
can be used on almost any other body with a T adapter.
