I'm afraid you'll have to convince the skeptic (me) on this one.  How 
can it know the distance to various autofocus points without having 
focused on each one and gotten feedback from the lens positioner?  And 
even if it could do that (and I don't see how) as soon as you move the 
camera a bit the data is wrong.  Convince me.
