Interesting Tom, the one reference you gave says that CCD's used in photo 
cameras don't usually
have an antirefletive coating and that the Silicon loses a large 30% fom the 
surface reflection.
It may be it is difficult to coat cheaply in consumer gear, because of 
non-planar surface?
