Can't help you with this question, however, I'm wondering why you were
shooting with the control head off camera in the first place? Just curious.

I'm not sure if it's voltage related, but I've had problems with using
either Winder on my OM-2S. The camera is pretty stiff to wind, at least
compared to my OM-1. For about the first half of the roll it works fine, but
starting around frame 14 the winder doesn't have enough power to fully
advance the film. This results in having to finish advancing the film
manually, at which point I usually stop using the winder. This seems to be
worse with the Winder 2, as it had this problem no matter the age of the
batteries. However, the Winder 1 worked pretty well when the batteries were
fresh, but the problem has slowly returned as the batteries wear down. I'm
thinking of picking up an M.6V Power Pack 2 to see if that makes any
difference.

Hope that's of some use to you,
Darin
