All rumors unless substantiated. I firmly believe that PMA will see some
sort of body announcement. At a UK show, there was a sign at the Olympus
booth that said ~ "Don't ask us about new E-System bodies, there will be a
February announcement. We don't know anything more. Honest".

I have read very nice articles where someone theorized that the 4/3 format
was designed for a 3-sensor array, much as pro-caliber video cameras use.
It was interesting reading, but still somewhat sketchy.

There continue to be rumours that Olympus has some sort of IS/VR/AS/OS
in-body technology up it's sleeve as they continue to introduce
hyper-expensive, pro-level lenses into the market without a key
differentiating technology like stabilization.

Weather sealed? I doubt whether you'll see an upper-line body _without_
that crucial feature from Olympus. My E-1 has survived many rain and snow
storms in the past 2 years.

Double-digit resolution? It seems to be a definite requirement for the
pro-spec body that is hotly rumored.

The following was posted on one of the Fred Miranda forums:

"I have a friend (who works for Olympus) who mentioned some thing
along the lines of image stabilization, double digit resolution,
weather sealed, pro series platform. Also talk of a 3 sensor chip
configuration (similar to Foveon) soon to come."

It's probably just a wild rumor but it sure does sound interesting.

Later,
Johnny
