OP has since stated that the film is Agfa Chrome, processed in C41, which
indeed suggests a special effect (or a mistake).

Pictures look like a special affect was being pursued, like "lets make it
look infrared'. Maybe meter is really dead, and exposure is based on
centering the needle (you can center the OM-1 meter without a battery,
though you'd be off 8-10 stops)
