I'll bet it doesn't sound as nice as the XKE though. British automobile
engineering had a lot of weak points but were the best in the world for
sound. At least I think so. My friend's 38 Jag Super Sport has a most
intriguing sound and its not all that good. About a three-inch straight pipe
with absolutely no muffler. I was going to photograph that car in September
but his son had taken it home to Arizona. His late father had three Jags and
they were all very nice. He bought the 38 in the 1950s and completely
restored it then. Amazing machine for 1938. /jmac

Hey, not so fast. There's my 1940 Ford Deluxe convertible, my 1957
DeSoto 2 door coupe with big hemi, my 1964 Jaguar XKE convertible
(drophead coupe to some), my 1973 Pontiac Grand Am with 400 cubic inches
and, of course, my OM-1 and OM-2's.

But, I have to admit that my 1999 Chrysler LHS is a far more comfortable
automobile than any of the earlier ones and I wouldn't be surprised if
it could out corner the XKE. And I'd have to get rid of the Grand Am
after passing the first gas station.

Ergonomically, the digitals are far worse than the OM's but they sure do
make pictures a lot faster.
