These remarks seemed very at odds with my reaction. Made me want to go look
again.
1.) I like the feeling of depth that comes from the front center tree being
well lite and brown, while the left background trees are in light shadow and
have a bluish cast. This makes for an excellent picture IMO.
2.) The waves in the water give a feeling of motion. It might work with even
a faster shutter speed. I can't predict which would be best.
4.) The inter-play of shadows and light on the snow and trees is a very
important part of the picture. Getting lower to the ground would probably
loose that. IMO
.. as usual you can get almost exactly opposite opinions.
