I took a close look at the E-300 / Evolt this afternoon. Compared to the
feel of handling of an OM4T or a Leica M3 this E-300 feels like a piece of
cheap plastic crap and yes "Made in China" is stamped very visably on the
base of the thing. Along with the detachable zoom lens the E-300 felt as if
it would float in a pool of water ....... just felt cheap, and lightweight
and shoddy and looked likewise.

Is there any digital camera that has anything like the feel of build quality
of an OM or Leica or older age Nikon?

Perhaps the Evolt should be renamed "Revolt"
