Thanks for the info Jim. I'm curious if you have ever used your vivitar
135mm with a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter, either a vivitar or olympus? I know
vivitar made "match mate" converter for specific lens, but I think they were
mainly designed for specific vivitar zooms. I'm surprised there is so
little info on older vivitar lens on the web.

Thanks,

Dean

This is the old Series 1 135/2.3 lens, one of the first production series of
Series 1 lenses. Those are mostly considered 'cult' lenses, with followings
that keep them scarce and the values up. They were pretty expensive when
new, and I believe the tests from that time indicate they compared well with
OEM lenses for the most part. I have one of these, along with its big
brother 200/3.0, but have only take a few shots with each. They handle
nicely with the tapered barrel, but are rather large and heavy for the focal
lengths. By the time you get to f2.8 or f4.0 you will probably find the
quality good enough to compare well with the Zuiko 135's.

OM-'s of all sorts, and no OM-oney...

I was trying to get one of each of the original Series 1 lenses... got a few
left to go, though.
