I feel differently. As Andrew says, screw-in hoods are slower to mount 
and unmount and don't work as well with filters. In addition, they don't 
reverse over the lens, which I highly value.

All 3 of these characteristics are also true of the Oly rubber slip-on hood.

I have both kinds and prefer the rubber one for day to day use. They are less 
obtrusive and don't get dinged or ding other things, while still providing 
flare and physical protection.
