As with other systems, buying an E-1 is a slippery slope. I used the 135/2.8
and 200/4 for a couple of weeks for long lenses, but as I was shooting sports,
quickly grew tired of no AF. The 135 made great images, but I wasn't as happy
with the 200. The end-result was that I went out last week and bought a 50-200
AND the 11-22, as there's really no way to get wide angle except with this
lens. I continue to use the 90/2 Zuiko macro, and until something else similar
is introduced next year, it will stay with me.

I did my first 11x14 print yesterday with the E-1 and the professional lab was
surprised that it was from a digital camera. A 20 yr veteran owner of this
lab, he said that he has seen a marked decrease in quality with the
introduction of digital over the past year or two. Photographers are not
spending the time to learn their equipment and blowing highlights amd
over-sharpening photos. He said the my print "didn't look digital". I was
pleased.

Yes, I want IS-in-the-body, but I can wait.

Noise at upper ISO's isn't really an issue, as it's much like film until you
get to 1600 or 3200. Careful use of Noise Ninja or Neat Image will help, but
overuse of those, great tools makes your pictures look like plastic figures.
To me, what's much more important is the ability to immediately shift from 100
to 800 in about 3/4 sec. to get the shot.

I'll bet that Olympus only had a limited number of OM-FourThirds adapters made,
so there's a possibility that they could run out. Get your registration done
online ASAP. My opinion? If you have to spend $150 on one shipped from Kendai
in Japan, that wouldn't be the end of the world for a $2k system. I'd chalk it
up to the price of fence-sitting for all those months. Don't abandon a new
system because of a marketing blunder.

That 150/2 (300mm equiv.!) is quite a nice lens, and I'd certainly like one.
You could certainly use the lens with extension tubes for close up work.
