What it has given me is an absolute freedom to shoot whatever,
whenever, whyever. (it should be a word)

However, there is a downside to all of this. I'm finding it too
easy to shoot, review, adjust and shoot again instead of getting
it right the first time. In going back to the film cameras I'm
trying to figure out how to use a stinkin light meter again.

Why is this such a bad thing? I like being in control of the
exposure.

Why Minolta didn't put a "match-needle" style metering feature
in the A1/A2 is beyond me. This is probably the biggest, most
serious flaw of the camera design is the lack of proper metering
while in manual exposure mode. You can use the live histogram
for exposure control, which is actually very slick, but you've
got to have the display set to exposure-priority instead of
display-priority. Exposure-priority is a lot like stop-down
photography. The display brightens or dims according to the
exposure. True WYSIWYG. But it makes framing and focusing a
pain.

Now, back to the OMs. Why, oh, why can't the manufacturers
figure out that a nice big IMAX like viewfinder is a good thing.
It'll be a while before my OMs get fully retired.

You think my OM-2S could use a little more brassing? Remember,
it ain't how the camera looks as long as the lenses are good. I
can only hope that my A1 will get as well worn.
