Don't know about the Japanese, but I think the Germans are pretty busy.
They did that amazing plasma tweeter. Fortunately the US has healthy
small businesses doing the innovation and manufacturing. Consolidation
is happening though and when they are down to 3 or 4 giant
corporations, no doubt they will go off shore.
