I helped another local photographer shoot a few weddings during September . . . his assistant quit recently and he really does need one. He knew I do them "solo" and asked if I would mind playing Key Grip and Best Boy for a few of his. No problem. He uses a Nikon F100 Wunderziegel. Lens is a fast Nikkor AF zoom similar to the pair of manual focus 35-105/2.8 Tamron SP's, only monstrous by comparison in size and weight. Indeed, I picked up the body with lens (but without flash) and it weighed quite noticeably **more** than an OM-2S with 35-105/2.8 Tamron in a flash bracket with a flash on the top.

Also had a chance to pick up and briefly handle one of the mondo digitals used by the local newspaper PJ's. It also weighed at least twice as much as my OM-2S wedding rig . . . not counting the equally mondo battery slab he wears just to power the thing for a reasonable amount of time.

Good grief! I'm staying with manual focus film cameras, thank you. I don't need the pulled muscles, neck pain or tennis elbow trying to wield one of those electronic, heavily motorized, gizmo-laden monstrosities that requires enough battery to power an electric car, for an entire day.

Although one of the best things about all traditional camera systems (esp.

Since I need motor drive less than 50f the time, and autofocus 00f the
time, I would regard any permanent weight incurred to provide these or
equivalent services as deadweight. I would also regard any cost as wasted.

Hmmm Why do I have so many motors, winders and a 35 - 70 AF???? Good job I
can stop any time I want!

There was a brief flurry of correspondence in AP a little while back about
"small cameras for everyday". Since it got triggered by a retrospective on
the RC, Oly got quite a few mentions. All favourable IIRC.
