Merkins were popular with women in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Unless
they were nude models, I have no idea why they would want to bother with
them. I understand they are still available. There have been some clever
anecdotes written about these little things but the one I remember is a
little raunchy for the list.

has just the word for just about *anything*, it seems. But what on earth is
a merkin for, I thought.
And then it came to me. Bush is the merkin President.
Of course, what other explanation is needed. What could be more appropriate
