Two of my good friends, both professional photographers offer different advice.. One says go MF, the other says, go digital, MF offers nothing you currently don't have in 35mm unless you print over 8x10's all the time..

MF will make me a better photographer (I think) as I'll get a spotmeter for it, breath, think, and actual take good photos; vs. digital, where I will snap snap snap, look at the picture I just taken, "What? Too dark? Add 1/3rd stop. Not saturated enough? +2 on the saturation...etc.." And I might become forever a "shoot, review, adjust" person... which doesn't make me a better photographer, but I will have all pretty shots and have deleted all the bad ones..

I did declare going Fuji MF, but I have a few friends that feel "Friends don't let friends go MF when digital is available".

Also, if I get an MF, I'll probably be the only one using it, my gf would like to get a digital camera; and so that's another consideration..

Oh, the headaches...

Albert, I really thought you had decided on the Fu*ji MF. You've been
bouncing all over the place on this. Originally, you were unhappy with the
metering and results of your OM. You were ready to go MF. You got some
advice to have your equipment checked. You had it repaired and were thrilled
with the results. Then you declared you were going Fu*ji MF and only need to
decide on 6x7 or 6x9. You asked this list for opinions on that choice. Ha!
You didn't expect consensus, did you? ;-)

Now you're out there in digital land. Why the huge change in direction? You
don't get any huge beautiful trannies with digital. Maybe you would want
prints larger than 8x10 if you had the MF rig. The lure of instant
gratifiication in digital is strong. But it's a different approach
altogether. High end digital photographers probably don't need to rely on
the immediate view of an image. They saw it in their vision and know the
tools and the craft. If you are lured to digital because of that instant
response, you may be cheating yourself out of learning the skills of
photography for the cool electrotoys. Take your time, fellow. Think deep
down what it is you hope to do, then determine the tools that best suit your
pursuit and get busy. You don't need to take a poll to do that. The answers
are within yourself.
