DPReview.com points out that the magazine Chasseur D'Image has published an E-1 photo sample with a direct comparison to the E-20. The images are of a Samurai doll and you can find them here in the middle of the page.

I downloaded and compared them and say that even though both are 5MP sensors the E-1 appears to have slightly more resolution than the E-20. It also has dramatically less noise than the E-20. This noise difference can be clearly seen by placing the images side-by-side and magnifying the cheek area of the doll. The E-1 appears to show more detail in the fabric of the dolls garment. Perhaps this is simply the absence of noise and not better resoluiton.

Looks like Olympus made them pull the images. Anyway have copies they can put on a server temporarily?
