Digging in the boxes under the table at a camera show a while back, I came
across (but didn't buy...) a Bogen QR plate, hexagonal, with a metal piece
with a raised lip on it. From the appearance and the package instructions it
the lip was supposed to align with the back edge of your camera thus
freezing the alignment on the plate, and in the QR mechanism. Perhaps Bogen
still makes this variation? I don't know what you do if you don't use the
hexagonal QR plate (which is my situation, and why I didn't buy it.)
