The last couple of tripod heads I have came with a bushing to adapt the
1/4 thread to 3/8. I believe this bushing to be a very cheap and common
item. In fact it would be no big deal to drill and tap to say 7/16 or a
metric size. Just make sure you have the proper bushing first.
