After being gone for two weeks I was looking forward to seeing info
on the new digital OM introduced at the Photokina. How sad to see
just an announcement of one in the works. Not even far enough along
to provide a pre-production model to see what they have in mind. And
I thought that the lack of commitment to make its own system of
lenses and inviting other to make lenses to their standard was
disquieting. I thought that the assumption that a camera maker that
has not been in the profession camera game for many years saying that
it would establish a standard for everyone to follow was a bit of a
fantasy and now unable to make it to market for the Photokina.
Another Olympus marketing opportunity missed. So, will we see it at
the next Photokina, or before when fewer will notice?
