[OM] Tamron Adaptall 2 grinder

This issue rears its ugly head again.

I was corrected a few weeks ago because I thought that the shearing
off of the OM4/4T/4ti plastic button on the lens mount by the Tamron
Adaptall was only a problem with the original one. Since my Tamron
Adaptall 2 with attached 90mm macro has not sheared of the plastic
button I thought, "How lucky I am considering that I use it from time
to time. I had better fix it."

I picked up some epoxy yesterday and decided to fix it today, but
then I thought that it was weird, looking at it closely, that it did
not seem to be damaged at all. So, I put some tape on the Adaptall
and on the lens mount with marks where the plastic button and the
shearing screw socket are. I mounted the lens and the lens clicks
into place about an 1/8 of an inch(3-4 mm) before the screw well on
the adaptor meets the plastic button.

Were there different models of the Adaptall 2 for the OM? Or is this
an OM List legend? Who has an OM4 which has been damaged by an
Adaptall and which Adaptall did the damage?

Further examination reveals that there is a black line on the
Adaptall 2 surface that could be wear from the little black button.
The Adaptall surface is not nearly as highly polished as an OM lens
and there is a little circular ridge on the Adaptall that has
collected the black stuff. I would guess that it is not the screw
hole and screw head that is damaging the plastic button, but the
combination of the rough surface and the ridge is grinding it down.
Fortunately I do not use it that frequently. There is no black line
on any of my OM lenses where they mount on the body. Don't know what
the fix is for that. Certainly putting epoxy in a hole is not going
to help at all. If you use Tamrons on your OM4/3, better check. Does
your Adaptall have a circle of expensive OM plastic button dust?

Can John or Clinton replace the plastic button?
