That's not a very good reply, I'll grant you that. I have seen a reply to
this question from Olympus NA in a forum (I believe it was dpreview.com's
Olympus SLR forum) that was much better. The key is trigger voltage. If you
want to be really sure and safe, don't use old flashes with high trigger
voltages. The reply from Olympus NA indicated it is actually okay, but
without a copy of the note with the Olympus NA's name I wouldn't put much
stake in that.

AFAIK, only the older Vivitar 283s had high trigger voltages, new ones
don't. Many use 283s, etc. on E-10s. Go do a search on the dpreview.com
Olympus SLR forum for flash and you'll quite likely find the post I am
recalling with the letter from Olympus NA. There have been many threads on
this topic there.
