What about a small mirror lens... the 300/5.6 I have works well enough to be
worth carrying, given that its about the size of half a beer can. Weight is
low too, so while it has its limitations it beats not having a long lens
available. Or maybe a 2X converter with your 135 would be enough... but the
300 is not even much larger than a 'seven-element' teleconverter really.
