I've had both. Still have the 28-80. It's a good lens, probably my most used. It has far better flare resistance than the OM 35-70 f/4 and f/3.5-4.5 zooms. It is a lot bigger than the f/4, and a LOT
heavier, since it's mainly metal, while the 35-70/4 is mostly plastic.

I am shocked. None of my Oly lenses are plastic. I did not know that kind of construction was used by Olympus for the OM line. Which lenses made by Oly(not Cosina) are of plastic construction?
