The 35-85mm series one is one of the older ones, therefore much better than
newer Series one models. Like you say, it is a superb lens, along with the
28-90mm f2.8 series one.
You'd be better off with the Samyang 18-28mm, as the vivitar is really just a
Cosina. New Series one lenses are simply not made to the earlier standards.
