Nothing wrong with Elite 200 if you need the speed. Elite in general does 
nicely with skin tones.  Try to get some 100 as your all-around film though.

You can get mailers when you buy the film from B&H to send to either Fuji or 
Kodak.

Pick the slides you like and have your local Kodak dropoff station send them 
to Kodak to be put on PhotoCD.  The more you send (up to about 150), the 
better the rate per scan. The cost was between $1.25 and $1.50 per scan when I 
did this last (5 years ago?). Dunno how much that's changed.  You can get a 
lot of scans for the price of a scanner and appropriate software at that rate.
 The thing about the scanner/software however is not the cost but the learning 
curve.

You can buy a trannie adapter for the Epson Perfection series scanners. Don't 
expect dedicated film scanner quality however.  And did I mention the learning 
curve thing?  <g>
